Celebrating Candlemas

Marking the halfway point between Winter and Spring

Candlemas is celebrated on February 2 in Waldorf Schools. This date falls halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. On this day we celebrate the longer days and the additional light headed our way.

The Buttercup Kindergarteners made boats with candles to float in water at home with a warm wish for each member of their family.

The Second Graders dipped candles in their classroom, and the middle school students had a bonfire today to burn some of the dried garland from Winter Fair.
