Little Friends celebrate Diwali

Yesterday our Little Friends began celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights. Lasting five days, the festival is celebrated during the Hindi lunisolar month of Kartika—between mid October and mid November. Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Two of our Little Friends families who celebrate Diwali brought activities—Rangoli stamping and the lighting of clay lamps called diyas—to our community to share in the festival.
