WSP presents at Point Park University Symposium
WSP was invited to be presenters at Point Park University — School of Education Symposium — “Addressing Trauma and its Impact on Student Learning, Mental Health and Wellbeing: The Powerful Relationship of Community Connections and the Arts” on Saturday August 24, 2024.
WSP Board of Trustees president Dr. Christal Edmunds (second from left) was a member of the team of Point Park University faculty members who organized the Symposium. Dr. Tim Knoster (second from right) was the keynote speaker of the event.
The Keynote Speaker was Dr. Tim Knoster, who has extensively published books and manuscripts, training materials, and other practitioner-oriented resources concerning the linkage among research, policy, and trauma-informed practice in multi-tiered systems of support and positive behavior support, school-based behavioral health, interagency collaboration that is child and family centered, and inclusive school reform.
Our Head of School, Kirsten Chirstopherson-Clark, was a panelist. Faculty Chairs, Robyn Thomas and Jill Zihar, were presenters in speaking about and demonstrating how Waldorf education organically offers many protective factors that are woven into our curriculum which lower negative health outcomes.
