Saturday was a glorious day for the Heartwood Annex Ribbon Cutting and May Fair! Instead of a ribbon, the building was officially opened with the cutting of a jump rope collaboratively made by two students (in third and fifth grades). It was wonderful to welcome back two alumni from the Class of 2020 to help us with the actual jump rope cutting. Thanks to two more third grade students—and guidance from Mr. Mark—our podium was refinished and given a decorative flair by WSP parent Steffi Mayer who also made our beautifully distinctive flags for the occasion.
Thank you to the many, many people who joined together in making this project come to fruition. Our donor board for the Heartwood Annex lists ALL of our generous donors. We are so grateful to you!
We could not have asked for more beautiful weather for May Fair! Numerous families have not been on campus for more than a year and commented on how special it was to experience this joyous day. Over 350 people joined in helping us raise over $4,000 in financial assistance for families at the school. All WSP merchandise sales support next year’s 8th grade class trip. This fundraiser is on-going. Please see below for ways you can support this effort.
A big thank you to all of the individuals, families, and businesses who helped us prepare for the Heartwood Annex Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and May Fair. Since we did not have our usual printed program we would now like to acknowledge you for your extra efforts for the day.
