Celebrating Good Works
A Letter from Our Head of School
Dear WSP Families and Friends,
WSP treasures our alumni. This week, I received such a gift in reading about one of our 2019 graduates featured on the Kidsburgh website. Please take a moment to read about Akhil Agrawal's inspiring project, The Sill Foundation. Of course, I couldn't help but note that Akhil referenced his Waldorf Education (under "Founder Story"):
“Other than my trips to India and visiting orphanages, I have been inspired by those in my local Pittsburgh community. Ashley Lynn Priore, a student at the University of Pittsburgh, started The Queen’s Gambit Chess Institute, which teaches underprivileged children life skills by playing chess. Randy Bartlett, my teacher at City of Bridges High School, has provided endless support and encouragement. My past education at the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh instilled in me the importance of helping others through good works. Finally, my family is a constant source of support.”
We are so proud of Akhil’s dedication to helping others. May we celebrate every unique and vibrant individual who makes up our community by supporting them in their search to do good works.
Warmly,
Kirsten Christopherson-Clark
Head of School
