Leaning Into Our Values
Letter from Our Head of School
Dear WSP Families,
WSP and Waldorf Education in general hold high ideals for ourselves, our students, our community, and our world. This is always a work in progress in our continuous striving as a group of educators and as an institution. The character of our school is affected by who we are and how we work together. Our values of collaboration, holism, empathy, curiosity, imagination, diversity, and truth, beauty, and goodness guide our actions, decisions, and policy setting.
I feel moved to bring this as well as our Multicultural Statement in light of this week’s fatal shootings in Atlanta and the violence against AAPIs. We want our Asian American and Pacific Islander students, families, and colleagues to know we stand with them and are holding them in our hearts. We also stand against white supremacy and the many implicit and explicit ways in which it impacts our community, our neighbors, ourselves, and our world.
As a community, let us extend interest, love, and care toward one another with this in mind. If you’re inclined, I encourage you to find ways to reach out to one another. May our striving to live our values continue in our thoughts and actions toward one another today and always.
In solidarity, Kirsten Christopherson-Clark Head of School
