Covid-19 Emergency Tuition Assistance Fund

During this challenging time, Waldorf School of Pittsburgh is working to extend as much financial aid assistance as possible to families within our community. We are also committed to supporting the faculty and staff who are working so hard to make remote learning at WSP successful. If your financial situation allows you to help bridge the gap for those who are experiencing financial distress right now, please consider contributing to our emergency tuition fund.

About the Fund

What is the WSP Covid-19 Emergency Tuition Assistance Fund?

We are working to reduce operating costs in as many areas as possible, extend as much assistance as possible, and continue to support the faculty and staff who are working so hard to make remote learning at WSP successful. If your financial situation allows you to help bridge the gap for those who are experiencing financial distress right now, please consider contributing to our emergency tuition fund.

Why does the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh have the Covid-19 Emergency Tuition Assistance Fund?

Based on regional data collected by Waldorf School of Pittsburgh, our school falls within the high end for total amount of financial assistance granted to families. This makes our school one of the more affordable private schools in the area and Waldorf schools in the region.

Given the financial challenges our community is currently facing, and will continue to face as we budget for the 2020–21 school year, Waldorf School of Pittsburgh has been advised to reduce budget planning by 25%, which is roughly $450,000. The school DOES NOT plan to cut financial assistance for families in need; however, we hope not to have to cut salaries for faculty and staff. This fund has been created to help make that possible. To date over $3,000 has been raised.

What does the Covid-19 Emergency Tuition Assistance Fund do for the students and teachers of Waldorf School of Pittsburgh?

The Covid-19 Emergency Tuition Assistance Fund provides assistance for families financially impacted by the pandemic and will be used to maintain staff and teachers’ salaries.

How much am I expected to give?

We hope that every participant will be as generous as possible. We want you to give what you can to support our community with joy! Gifts of all sizes are needed and welcome.

Can I make a monthly donation?

Yes! A monthly donation is an excellent way to support WSP. PayPal is still available online. You may also make a monthly donation and have it rolled into your bill via TADS. A $20 monthly donation adds up to a significant $240 yearly gift!

Will my company match my gift?

When you make a gift to WSP, you can double or triple its impact by checking with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gift program. Many companies and foundations match the value of charitable gifts made by employees and their spouses, board members, and retirees.
