Elementary Summer Camp 2026

Elementary Camp is a time for community, friendships, time in nature, and purposeful activities. Our Elementary Camp is for children who completed grades 1–5 during the 2025–26 school year, and it follows a structured Waldorf rhythm each day.

Young Makers Studio: A Hands-On Arts and Science Camp

Each morning begins with lively creativity as campers dive into joyful, artistic activities where every day they discover something new. Campers will piece together beautiful mosaics, experiment with textures and patterns while weaving on hand-held looms, and innovate with shibori techniques and indigo dyeing. This hands-on exploration does more than just fill a canvas; it unlocks a steady rhythm of creative flow that turns abstract ideas into tangible masterpieces. The Pittsburgh Glass Center will be a featured guest one day for each week of camp!

During the afternoon, our hands-on camp invites students to discover the "alchemy" of everyday ingredients. Under the guidance of Butter Queen founder Carrie McGinnis, participants explore how natural materials melt, mix, and transform through heating and cooling. Acting as modern alchemists, makers will experiment with color, scent, and texture using simple tools in a collaborative environment. By blending design activities with hands-on discovery, students will build confidence and curiosity—all while crafting their own custom batches of plant-based body butter to take home.

To keep the creative energy balanced and bright, we weave refreshing interludes of outdoor exploration and spirited water play into our daily rhythm.

• June 8–12: Week 1

• June 15–18: Week 2

Session Options

• Elementary programming will offer a full day option only from 8am–3pm.

• Parents can choose to enroll for just one week or both.

Meals

Morning snack will be provided and a nut-free lunch will need to be brought.

Pricing

• $400 for Grades Week 1 full-day 8am–3pm (5 days)

• $350 for Grades Week 2 full-day 8am–3pm (4 days; no camp on Friday, June 19th)
