A Reminder of Resilience
A Letter from Our Head of School
Dear Families and Special Friends,
This morning I had the heartwarming experience of watching our 8th grade students perform a play they wrote collaboratively. It told the story of various individuals suffering from hunger, being unfairly attacked, and even robbed resulting in the loss of all of their possessions. In the end, they overcame their fears. Woven throughout the play were many moments of humor and even dialogue with the audience. It was delightfully light-hearted yet delivered a strong reminder of human resilience. Tomorrow, our community will come together in person and virtually to celebrate the official opening of the Heartwood Annex, our 8th grade classroom. It will be the first time most of our students and all of our parents will have a chance to tour the new classroom, a 1,000 square foot standalone building with the aim of being the first classroom of its kind in the nation to meet CORE green certification. Originally, WSP anticipated holding the Heartwood Annex Ribbon Cutting Ceremony during May Fair 2020. Given we were unable to host that May Fair, due to the pandemic, we will do so during this year’s festival! May Fair will be different than in year’s past, but WSP is excited to offer our community a celebration of spring, new growth, and hope for our students’ futures. Please see below for more details about both events. In the spirit of hope and resilience, Kirsten Christopherson-Clark Head of School
